You skip the moisturizer because your face is already shiny, and by three in the afternoon it's shinier than it would have been. Skipping it has the opposite effect, because dehydrated skin overcompensates on the surface.
What oily skin actually needs is water, without the oil that usually carries it into a moisturizer.
Special Lotion #22 has no pore-clogging oil in it at all, which is why it's thinner than you expect in a moisturizer and light enough for skin that finds other products too much. Sodium hyaluronate holds water at the surface, so your skin stays comfortable all day without anything that reads as shine.
Niacinamide refines the look of pores and evens tone over time, algae helps balance natural oils, and witch hazel keeps pores looking tight. Green tea adds antioxidant defense, cinnamon, sage, ivy and burdock keep skin looking clean through the day, and cocoa seed extract filters blue light. Marshmallow, coltsfoot and melissa keep the formula calm on skin already dealing with congestion.
Smooth it on every morning over clean skin, focusing on the oily areas, and always finish with SPF. It absorbs in seconds and is great under makeup, so it doubles as a base.
